This year I continued my collaboration with Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) MSc in Marketing for the Creative Economy, working on three projects: a flag design for their Singapore field trip, updates to their programme brochure, and a large-scale backdrop for their 2025 graduation show.

The graduation backdrop was particularly challenging, as it had to cover two of the three non-removable whiteboards in a lecture hall while still reflecting the school’s innovative spirit. I proposed a flexible structure of four metal stands supporting foam boards, which reduced costs and fit the site seamlessly. To create a fresh and celebratory feel, I moved away from the traditional rectangular format and introduced irregular die-cut edges that evoked the lightness of floating balloons.

The final design was well received by both staff and students, with many graduates capturing their milestone moments in front of it. Being able to deliver a solution that met practical needs and created lasting memories was a very rewarding experience.
